The terminology |
||||
Whether it's all in ones, pockets, fitteds or wrap and covers you're stuck with, we can help you choose. So here goes the A-Z of the new language that you need to learn, but if your linguistic skills aren’t up to much don’t worry, come along to one of our Glasgow nappuccinos and our volunteers will show you some real life cloth nappies instead. Fitted – nappy that is shaped like a disposable and comes in different sizes sometimes referred to as size one (up to six months) and size two (6 months plus). Shaped – nappy that is shaped like a disposable. Shaped nappies can be sized or OSFA OSFA – one size fits all. Shaped nappies that will be fit from birth to potty training, also sometimes referred to as ‘birth to potty’ nappies. Covers – a water proof outer that is required in addition to the fitted nappy. Sometimes also know as wraps. Covers are usually made from PUL (polyurethane laminate), sometimes wool (best for night time) and sometimes fleece. Fleece covers are not waterproof and not suitable for babies who spend long times in the same position (or in slings) as the wetness will eventually come through (known as compression wicking). Pockets – nappy shaped liked a disposable and has the waterproof cover already sewn in. ZZZzzzz - honesty it is much more interesting and entertaining to come along to a nappuccuino instead we hold them once a month on the south side and west end of Glasgow, or why not sign up for the nappy trial scheme where you get to try out lots of different styles of nappy for free.
